Customer Reviews

Couldn't be any better! (2009-05-10)
I have used this Gameshark at least 20 times since I bought it. Each time I played for at least 20-30 minutes. No freezes, no hangs, nothing but pure fun and it exceeded my expectations.

I hate to offend some of the review posters but it looks to me like some of these are under 16 years of age, who perhaps need a bit more experience and patience. When you buy an item like this that modifies coding in a game you have to be extremely careful what you type in.

First thing I did was go to the official Gameshark website. It says "if the gameshark gives you a warning that you have too many codes it will freeze, DO NOT PRESS START (as the Gameshark itself recommends) but turn off the game instead"

I know it is tough to deal with mislead instructions. BUT you can't go wrong when you turn the console off. If something doesn't work, or the game looks funny, DO NOT SAVE, do not turn the Gameshark off, turn the whole system off. Note that I emphasize in DO NOT TURN THE GAMESHARK OFF, I mean it, you should have no reason to turn the Gameshark off, instead turn the GBA off. This is my third Gameshark, I owned the Monster Brain and the Game Xploder. I never ruined any of my games.

After 3 years using the Gameshark 3.0 with my Pokemon Crystal game, my son and friends (about 12 years old) somehow managed to crash the game. Needless to say the Poke Crystal was fried.

Bottom line, if you don't know what you're doing, consult someone who knows how to work it. Or perhaps and adult can help you work it properly. Dealing with coding is serious business, and these games are nothing short of a micro computer. You need to do the right things otherwise they will crash.

If you are in doubt, just don't get it then, or work with a spare game.

gameshark helped my game (2009-04-09)
i think the gameshark is cool because i can use all the cheats on my games and i can enter new games in the shark and put other codes in it. i use it alot. i have SP and DS systems and games.

Gameboy Advance SP GameShark (2009-02-17)
The product worked great. This is an older device for use in Gameboy advance. Most kids today use the DS, but my kids also like to play with the Advance. This was hard to find anywhere else but I'm glad Amazon still carries it.

Worked with all my kid's games without any problems. My kids also were able to look up custom codes from the internet and prgram them into this device which was also a very nice feature.

Misleading customer image? (2009-01-29)
The customer image is misleading and therefore the person I allowed to order this did not get what they expected. However the item actually shown by seller is what I am rating.

The instrustion manual clearly states that using too many codes will have adverse effects. There is also a certain way to remove games from this to keep the item from getting scratched and unable to be read by the GBA. When used correctly this is a great item and deserves great reviews.

Do NOT buy this - It breaks after 1 use!!! (2009-01-09)
For some reason, this product will break after 1 use in a game boy advance. I bought this item, played it 1 time, and then it broken after rebooting. What it is is that Nintendo made different chips that after there chips enter the slot, they will break.

If you put it into your GBA after 1 Use, you will be prompted with a White Screen of Death. You will not be able to fix this.

DO NOT BUY!!!!
