Shocking Results (2009-03-16)
Special Pikachu addition of pokemon that came out way before gameboy color hit the shelves. Plays just as the original gameboy games, however unlike other reviews there is is something missing.

Remember that special "pikachu surfing" event? Well you can't get that ingame. That's right, meaning you would have to call nintendo and take it up to them for them to "install" the hardware into the game! What a money-milker. Very disappointing as a child, as I have wanted to play that game specifically for that purpose and the ability to catch "mew". This is as close to the series for the original 3, so if your into collecting these, get the yellow version. Interacting with pikachu is cute, but be warned how his mood changes can affect battles if you use him...

And it seems that they have taken out the "Indingo" pokemon, or "virus" it seems. It was said catching this pokemon (which was literally nothing more than a scrambled block with two eyes on it that make a polygon noise) would "erase" the save data on the game! I don't recall running into this pokemon, that can be found in the sea near the island. This game is old, so don't pay more than[..] for this. I know there's been quiet a few that have been selling this outdated game for ridiculous prices, simply because it's a "pikachu edition" based pokemon game.

Kids love it! (2009-01-28)
I bought this for one of my kids, because they had it in the past and it got lost. We got it again, and they love it!

Pokemon Pikachu Edition (2008-12-02)
My son is having so much fun with this game. He loves that his Pikachu follows him everywhere and that he can check his Pikachu's mood (ie: sad, happy). A great game.

The Crown of the Original Three (2008-09-30)
As has been done in other Pokemon versions (Gold/Silver then Crystal), Yellow tops off the two other Gameboy versions nicely (Red/Blue). In addition to having Pikachu as your constant companion, the additional changes, though subtle, will have you taking up the quest yet again to "catch 'em all".

Although the graphics outside of battle are lackluster, inside a battle between two Pokemon show off the graphical enhancements nicely. Pikachu's "mood meter" will have you attempting to please the little guy so you can obtain the best results in certain areas.

Since this follows the TV show (early in it's career), fans of that show might enjoy this version more than the average Pokemaniac. A slight improvement over the original two, any Pokemon fan would be welcome to add this to their collection.

Pros:

Pikachu's here, and he won't stay in his ball!
Slight graphics improvement during battles
It follows the TV show closer than the original two games

Cons:

Same old, same old Pokemon game. Only slight differences
Graphics are sub-par when travelling the world of Pokemon

Overall:

This game rates high with me personally, since I am a fan of Pikachu and Pokemon in general. This game is great for the Pokemon collector to obtain and add to his or her library. Not to be missed, especially at these prices. Warning, though: You might not be able to obtain a "complete" copy of this game anymore without shelling out some serious bucks.

Pokemon Yellow Version -GB (2008-05-06)
Good game I thought some of the graphic's were a little tacky for my taste although the funny part is they say this game is for the original Game Boy but when you play the game the background like houses and the ocean and people the graphics really suck major but when you get into a pokemon battle with another trainer and you see both pokemon their both in crystal clear color which is really weird because this game is suppose to be for the GB not GBC so go figure I just thought that was pretty interesting that only the pokemon would come in color who knows maybe that's why they said on the front "Special Pikachu Edition" on the game boy cartridge but I will admit this game with out a dout in my mind is extremely to long but a very interesting game good for very long road trips defently Oh and remember if your going on a long road trip and you take your GBA SP remember to take the car charger with you for that sort of thing or the easy way take the Original GBA and just buy double AA batteries when you need them I wouldn't really recommend taking the GBA SP on long road trip just because when you plug in the car charger you can't listen to the radio while the car charger is in I found that out the hard way 1 time I plugged in the car charger but then it some how wouldn't let me listen to the radio. So buy this game if you have a roadtrip coming up and you get bored in the car very easily or if you just need something to do or just get bored any where. If you have an extremely short attention span do not get this game you will get bored with it really quickly and then want to trade it in and it is a little bit of a frustrating game at times so if you can't take frustration don't get this game either. I would recommend this game for anyone 10 years of age or older.
