I absolutely love this game series. I was very happy to find it in perfect condition being sold for a reasonable price by an awesome seller. Great plot, great game, great fun.

Awesome! (2009-02-21)
Awesome game. If you have Red Version, this is like an updated one with MUCH better graphics and gameplay. A lot is added here.

But, one question: What's up with $61.49 for a new game?

Gameboy Advance SP GameShark (2009-02-17)
The product worked great. This is an older device for use in Gameboy advance. Most kids today use the DS, but my kids also like to play with the Advance. This was hard to find anywhere else but I'm glad Amazon still carries it.

Worked with all my kid's games without any problems. My kids also were able to look up custom codes from the internet and prgram them into this device which was also a very nice feature.

Misleading customer image? (2009-01-29)
The customer image is misleading and therefore the person I allowed to order this did not get what they expected. However the item actually shown by seller is what I am rating.

The instrustion manual clearly states that using too many codes will have adverse effects. There is also a certain way to remove games from this to keep the item from getting scratched and unable to be read by the GBA. When used correctly this is a great item and deserves great reviews.

Do NOT buy this - It breaks after 1 use!!! (2009-01-09)
For some reason, this product will break after 1 use in a game boy advance. I bought this item, played it 1 time, and then it broken after rebooting. What it is is that Nintendo made different chips that after there chips enter the slot, they will break.

If you put it into your GBA after 1 Use, you will be prompted with a White Screen of Death. You will not be able to fix this.

DO NOT BUY!!!!

Questions? Email me at beaton94@yahoo.com.

Cheaters! (2008-11-02)
Listen up, if you cheat like crazy when it comes to gameboys like me, you're in luck. Very well organized, simple to use, and helps a lot. When I bought it it was inexpensive, so that was good too. It is pretty sturdy, but if you pull the GBA cartridges out too often, the metal prongs on the inside bend and wont read your games anymore, that is why I gave it 4 stars because I had to buy a second one. So if you are gentle with it, like I am now, it's a really good and handy item.

my granddaugher loves playing her ds (2008-10-24)
I made my granddaughter Tiani very happy sending her this Gameshark, together with the Action Replay

Customer Reviews

Now let me explain... (2009-02-05)
This is a remake of one of what many consider to be the best of all Mario games. I am a huge fan of Mario games, it's my favorite game series. Super Mario Galaxy, Mario & Luigi, Paper Mario, Super Mario Bros. (obviously not this one) I just love the series. And games have no use to play if there's no challenge. But there is a point in time when something can be too hard, and this goes way over that line. It's simply too hard. It's one of the hardest games I've ever played, and it wasn't very fun. I was stressed during it. Great graphics, but that's not enough. I haven't played the orginal NES version, and I doubt it's any different. Sorry folks.

Just like the original! (2009-02-03)
I'm so glad I have this game! I can now play it on the go. (on my NDS) It is just like the original, only Mario says certain things when he gets a mushroom, leaf, fire power, 1UP, or dies. It's very cool. This game is the same as Super Mario All Stars. I picked that up right away! The music for the underground level was so cool! If you are a Mario fan, get this game!

Super Mario Adv 4 (2009-01-06)
Shipping was acceptable; even though, the product came regular US Mail. My child seems to enjoy playing the game. The pkg. was discreet; which was appreciated being it was a gift. My only issue was the packaging. The product came in an envelope and was not in a GBA box.

Super Mario 3 (2008-11-18)
The game is a fun game. I understand that its an old game and not new, but the game I bought was corrupt. It can only save one game at a time. I guess thats what I get for buying used.

Very Good (2008-11-16)
This product is so much fun. I already owned the game myself, but my younger sister who is six just had to have it for her birthday. Unwilling to give up mine, I bought it here at Amazon- which was truly a lifesaver. Thank You! :)

Amazon.com
Pokémon Sapphire's updated graphics with weather effects, amazing sound, more than 200 Pokémon with over 100 new species--as well as its faithful adherence to the existing series of Pokémon games--makes for a welcome evolution in the series.

First, the game has a lot in common with Pokémon games Silver, Gold, and Crystal. For example, players can choose to be a boy or a girl trainer, an internal clock sets events at certain times, and the game's handy-dandy Pokédex helps players keep track of the many stats. You're main goal is still to beat all the Gym Trainers and become the Pokémon Master. If you've played the old games, you will be right at home. But not all is the same.

The most obvious change is in the battles themselves. Now that two Pokémon can fight on your side at the same time, you can tag-team them against an enemy by taking advantage of the strengths of your Pokémons while covering their weaknesses. For example, you can now have a water Pokémon watch your fire Pokémon's back. You can also attack more than one Pokémon at a time.

A whole new element to the game focuses on how berries are used in battle. And if you collect enough berries, you can take them to a Berry Blender and make a PokéBlock, which is a little super-charged candy that raises your Pokémon's "Condition" attributes. You can then groom your Pokémon for regional contests and compete for ribbons like "Best of Show," which will unlock additional contests. There's even strategy in how to best use your berries: pick too many and the berry tree will disappear; plant berries, though, and a tree will grow. You can also build a Secret Base in special areas of the game, which you can decorate just like you can your room.

And let us not forget that Pokémon Sapphire has a kickin' multiplayer system, too. You can trade Pokémon, and link up to four players for incredible battles. The only downside is that you can't link up with the old Game Boy Color games. --Bryan Karsh

Pros:

  • You can control two Pokémon in battle
  • Much needed graphic and sound facelift
  • Nice multiplayer feature (requires link cable and extra game cartridge)
Cons:
  • Can't trade Pokémon with Game Boy Color

Sapphires really are something beautiful arent they? (2009-02-25)
Hello, im twelve years old. Pokemon sapphire was my first game by pokemon, so im here to help you out since my only knoweledge of the game was that i got by looking over my best friends shouldurs. Yet, i became really good at the game. The game starts where your moving too a new town, and you have to go help a proffessor in danger by using one of his three pokemon. There is Treeco, a grass pokemon, who is for expierinced players, torchic, a fire pokemon, for fiery hearted battlers, and mudkip, for begginers. After the battle, proffesor birch realizes that the pokemon likes you and sends you off on a journey to find alot of pokemon.
The plot unfolds itself as you go from town to town. You must beat other pokemon trainers to get expeirnce and your pokemon will evolve. After a while you meet team aqua, the bad guys of this story. They want to flood the world and have more water pokemon. Then theres team magma, good guys who want to help you out. After you have seven gym badges, the heart of the story arrives when you face off with team aquas leader Archie, and follow an enraged kyogre to the heart of a cave called Orgin cave, in soottopolis city. Then you face off with Kyogre, the legendary pokemon on the front of the box, and you must either catch it or defeat it. Soon you will become pokemon leauge champion.
Quests which appear after you are champion include more legendary pokemon, multiplayer fun, and becoming the champion of the battle tower, a new place to battle at. Some other feautures are: the choice of two bikes and a cycling road competition, secret bases in the right areas which you can totaly decorate with furniture, and wireless communication. Hope you like it!

Got Bored (2009-02-23)
I have played Pokemon Red, Yellow, and Gold (along with all of the side-game like Stadium, Dash, etc). Compared to R, Y, and G, this one (though graphically advanced) falls short for me. The added graphics are great and the colors are vibrant, so are the side-quests, but eventually it all comes down to a Pokemon game is a Pokemon game is a Pokemon formatted game. Unfortunately, this time, there are so many things to do that pokemon suddenly "biting" you in the grass or water is a quick annoyance. Unfortunately again, it becomes a choice between training your pokemon and doing the quests you're so eager to do. Maybe I'm just impatient? There are a lot of new things to do, like Pokemon contests (you may have seen these on D&P in season 11), and Poke blocks. The Poke block mini game is quite fun, but repetitive after a time. You start to get annoyed that the old man playing with you keeps missing so much even though you're perfect and therefore makes the quality of your blocks sub-par. You also never really know where to go in the game. I spent who knows how long wandering around before I happened to chance upon that I had to go back to Lavaridge to complete a quest before I could continue. Mind, I was halfway across the "world" from Lavaridge at that point, having just naturally defeated the gym leader that the game had led me to. That's just one of the places I got stuck in. I got stuck about 8 times a day (playing about 6 hours a day on and off), not exaggerating. The game gives you no hints in this regard. I played up until Shoal cave (after Mossdeep city) and put the game down. I may pick it up later, but right now, I've had enough. I wouldn't suggest this for someone playing Pokemon for the first time. This is more for someone who wants to play Pokemon because they like the genre and want to play another Pokemon game after having several under their belt. Some people say that this is their favorite Pokemon game of all, so everyone's experience is different. Don't let my review keep you from playing this game. You may find you like it and go, "hey...that reviewer is an idiot XD"

has a glitch in it (2009-02-22)
Something seems to be wrong with the game. I bought it for my nephew and he says he cannot save any games he is in the process of. Other than that it works fine

Pokemon Sapphire (2009-02-10)
This product was a waste of my money as it did not work properly. It deleted my saved data all on its own. I am not happy about it.

Just OK game (2009-01-12)
This game was OK. Nothing exciting, but just alright. There are better Pokemon games out there. Would not recommend if you are an avid Pokemon fan.

More Pokemon fun (2009-02-25)
My two granddaughters have enjoyed this game and have played it for hours. They would recommend it to other Pokemon fans.

Great tips to help you on the long run and get your moneysworth! (2009-02-24)
ok ruby feautures a ground type pokemon called groudon who controls land and the sun and your fighting with team aqua, and against team magma. now here are some great tips!

For groudon, stock up on ultra balls and other helpful items. dont blow your master ball on him, go after latios, the pokemon that runs rampid after you beat the elite four.

take time to find rare candies! they help your pokemon grow quickly!

If your a beginner at the game, pick mudkip as a starter. when you have swampert with one ice type move, you can beat drake, the dragon guy of the elite four and steven, the champion who uses steel types.

Some pokemon take a while to raise but you can find them early off in the game. Like aron, you can find him in granite cave in dewford town. Catch him and train him to get a tough agronn.

and heres how you can get regirock, regice, registeel, and rayquaza. For the regis, you must find the selaed chamber, west from pacifilog town. get a wailord and relicanth and put one first in ur list and one last to get the right order after you use dig to get even deeper into the cave. dont translate braile, just trust me. once you do, go find the thre caves hidden around the desert near mauville, fortree, and off mr brineys house in the sea. Rayquaza is at sky pillar near pacifolog. You can catch him after you become champion.

And last but not least, to find mirage island you must have the wynaut that has hatched from the gift from the lady in lavaridge town. Have him when you talk to the man to see mirage island. Hope you liked the help!

wondeful game (2008-12-20)
The game is wonderful. The kids love it! Keeps them entertained for a long time.

BUYER BEWARE!! (2008-12-03)
I purchased the Game Boy Advance Pokemon Sapphire, Emerald & Ruby for my son's birthday. He wanted these games so he could migrate the Pokemon to his DS Pokemon Diamond game, but these games would not allow him to migrate the Pokemon. Every time he tried to migrate the Pokemon to his Diamond game, it would delete his file and he would have to start all over again. I know that his DS and his Pokemon Diamond game are not defective because his cousin has the Game Boy Advance Pokemon Emerald game and he doesn't have any trouble migrating Pokemon from his cousin's game. He found the disfunctional games to be rather frustrating. I returned all 3 games by USPS with signature confirmation. Y Yang signed for the package a week ago and I still have not received a refund for the games.

A Gem In Its Class (2008-10-24)
Having been a Pokemon fan for quite a number of years, I am proud to report that Pokemon Ruby is an excellent version in the Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald trilogy. My original game had to be replaced due to battery and saving issues but considering the age of this game, such problems can and will from time to time appear. To me this has been a fun "neverending" game and is my favorite of the "gem" trilogy. Whether "on the road" in my DS or in my Game Cube (with GBA adapter) Pokemon Ruby has been a constant and valued companion to this senior citizen. The game has excellent graphics and not bad sound. Play is excellent and enjoyable. If you've played the more recent Pokemon games and like them - I suggest you give the older generation of Pokemon games a try.

An instant Zelda classic! (2009-01-10)
The SNES classic, The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past has come to the GBA! What could be better than having one of the best Zelda games ever to play anywhere? Plus, the cartridge includes an bonus game...the first multiplayer Zelda ever, Four Swords!
(Note: I will not go over the story in this review.)

To start, the GBA port of A Link to the Past is almost an exact copy of the original. The dimension-swapping gameplay and puzzles are still there. The game's controls are intact and translate well onto the GBA. The (in my opinion) minor changes include some dialogue revisions and edits, and the addition of yelps and grunts when Link swings his sword (like in Ocarina of Time).

The game is action-packed and challenging. The dungeons and bosses are as fun as ever. The lineup of tried-and-true items expands with some cool new ones. The difficulty level is perfect. The puzzles make you think a little bit and that makes beating the dungeons all the more satisfying.

The music is great! The game includes all the classic Zelda tunes and some new ones that are just as catchy!

The graphics have aged well over the years. They looked so good, I was almost fooled into thinking this was a game made originally for the GBA.

As for Four Swords, it's true that it's the first multiplayer Zelda game. But, there's a catch. The game can ONLY be played with 2-players or more. It works via GBA to GBA link cables. Each player must also have their own copy of the cartridge in order to play. For those who get to play, they must work cooperatively and competitively with the other player(s). Also a nice feature is as you progress in one game, extras can be unlocked in the other game.

Even for the fans who might be disappointed by Four Swords, this game is still worth buying just for the chance to play A Link to the Past again, or for the very first time!

Married a Zelda fan (2008-09-12)
Bought this for my husband ...a big Zelda fan. He has played it multiple time and now has our oldest child into playing as well. If you have been a fan of previous Zelda games you will be a fan of this as well.

Zelda always rocks (2008-09-07)
What can I say? You either like Zelda or you don't. I think it's continuing saga is amazing and fun to be part of.

The best video game of all time (2008-06-04)
Yeah, I know that title may be pretty grand for this old 16-bit video game, but for a fantasy/adventure lover like me, it just don't get better than this. Inspite of all the video games I've played with all their flashy 3-D graphics and extremely complex gameplay, if I had to honestly choose one video game to be crowned king, this would be the one. It just represents every young man (or boy's) longing for adventure and excitement, a quest/purpose, to fight unimaginable monsters/evil, to save the beautiful damsel and in the process, the world.
The story's simple yet engaging, the music classical and priceless, the graphics old-school and simple yet detailed and dazzling. This video game entralled me as a boy, and though I know now where most of the secrets are, I'm still in love with it. You get to trek a huge world with a wonderful helpful map to find where you want to go; the monsters are cool and widely varied and you have to figure out each one's weak spot; you get so many different weapons and powers, with the master sword being the most sought after; the dungeons are loads of fun and very addictive.
This is my absolute favorite of the Zelda series and grips me the most out of them all.

great game (2008-05-26)
This Zelda game back in the early 90s made up for the 2nd game being a piece of crap. The world map is big with a light and dark world map making the game twice as big. There lots of new items like the pegasis boots for running, the master sword, and the mirror for switching to new worlds. If you did like the origonal game you will love this one. So I say you should check this game out. There is a 2nd game on this besides A Link to the past, The 4 swords. I havent played it since you need 4 friends with the game, but buying it for just A Link to the Past is still not a waste.
